Its Monday! I technically volunteer for overtime today, so any stress, extra mileage and overall feelings of homesickness, are technically my own fault…

Here’s how Day 3 of CamperForce Peak 2016 went:
This season I was scheduled on K shift. Working Wed. -Sat. 6:30am-5:00pm, with a mandatory overtime day of Tuesday.
I was feeling overzealous and signed up for an additional 5 hours of overtime today, Monday, thinking the rest of my family wouldn’t miss me since I’d be off by 11:30am.
I clocked in, attended start up, made a few jokes and had a few laughs about having volunteered to work an additional day, then went to my least favorite to pick for the next few hours.
At break, I called Antwon who was still sleeping and told him I was only working 5 hours. I ate a few almonds and a cup of coffee- then headed back to work.
The day was good. Well, as good as it gets- and to help keep the momentum going with the peak festivities, random gift card drawings were sent to our scanners- I didn’t win! I did however remember to wear my pedometer today, so I tracked 5.71 miles over the 5 hour shift, which isn’t really that bad!
Anyway, 2.5 more hours and it was lunch time. I clocked out- went for lunch while calling Antwon to say I had decide to work the whole day. By the time I finished eating my lunch, I called him back to tell him I was headed to the grocery store and had made the final decision not to work the additional 5 hours, and I was coming home!
OMG! I just couldn’t make up my mind.
Anyway, I ended up going to the grocery store- grabbing the rest of the groceries for the week, along with a few pairs of new leggings and some sweatpants for Antwon- then went home for the day!
Unfortunately, Antwon didn’t have the option of volunteering. His schedule had been fixed to include not only mandatory overtime by working 5 days, but also an additional 1.75 hours each day! So in theory- I won’t see him again until 5:30 tomorrow morning, when I’m fixing my breakfast snoozing before heading in to work my shift for the day!
